Buying professional translations in PhraseApp
When managing your translations with PhraseApp you can work with your own team of translators or just order professional translations from our translation partners.
Ordering translations is simple. The translations are ready in a matter of hours to days and they will be part of your localization resources instantly:
- Sign in with your PhraseApp account
- Find the “Order Translations” link next to your project
- Select a translation provider that should process your order
- Choose your source and target languages
- Choose whether you will just translate specific tags or the whole project
- Choose whether you want to include untranslated keys.
- Choose whether you want to include unverified translations.
- Place your order and get the translation back automatically
- To boost quality of your translation order, you can provide a style guide.
Translation at a glance
Ordering with PhraseApp means transparency during the whole translation progress. The price of your translation is displayed before your order. During the translation you will see the translation progress at all times. And you will get email confirmations as soon as your translation is done - thus, you are always up to date.
Ordering translations via PhraseApp is a transparent process - as efficient as possible. As soon as your order is processed, you will find all the translated content in your project: Exactly where your translations are meant to be. You don’t have to insert the translations manually and you save a lot of time and money.
The amount of time it takes to process your order depends mostly on these questions:
- How common is the language pair you’re ordering?
- How good is the contextual information and style guide you provided with your order?
- How many orders are currently processed by the pool of translators?
- How many words does your order include?
Statistics show that over 95% of all orders are completed in less than 24 hours. Oftentimes smaller orders in common language pairs are returned to you in less than four hours.
Mark sections as untranslatable for translators
Sometimes you might want to include text within a translation order that you do not need to be translated (such as code blocks or comments for the translator). To prevent text from being modified and indicate to the translator that it does not need to be translated, you can wrap text within no-translate tags
Please remember to close your no-translate tags, and try to avoid having large areas of excluded text. Please also note that it is not possible to have nested areas of non-translate tags.

You will most likely receive a translation like this:

When you download translations via Translation Center or API we will automatically remove the
[NOTRANSLATE] tags for you.
Mark placeholders as untranslateable for translators
Sometimes your translations might include placeholders that should be translated in your translation order. To prevent placeholders from being modified and indicate to the translator that it does not need to be translated, you need to choose appropriate placeholder formats in your project settings. That way all recognized placeholders matching the selected format are automatically marked as untranslatable for the translators in your translation order. Furthermore we are able to automatically validate the correctness of placeholders in the delivered translations.
Information available to translators
When ordering translations it is important to add as much meta information to the order as possible. The more information you pass - especially on context of the content that needs translation - with your order, the better the quality of your translations will be and the faster you will receive them.
By default we will pass these information to the translators once you confirm your order:
- Description of the key
- Screenshot attached to the key
- Source translation for the key
- Content of the style guide you attach to your order
- Custom message you entered during the order process
- Max. number of characters allowed (configurable in translation key settings)
- We recommend to use all of these information to give translators as much context as possible. Good context information will massively increase the quality of your translations.
How can I re-order existing translations?
Sometimes you might want re-order translations for keys that have already been translated. To do so you should unverify all translations for the keys in the desired locale that should be included in your translation order. Afterwards you can just select the ‘include unverified translations’ option when creating a new order.
